Piers joined Barings ABF Australia (formerly Gryphon Capital Investments) in 2020 as a Database Manager and Systems Analyst. Piers is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and enhancing the firm's applications and databases, which support the day-to-day operations of the Quantitative Analytics team. Piers has more than 28 years’ experience with capital markets, treasury and market risk systems. Before joining the firm, Piers spent 8 years with Bank of Queensland as a Senior Manager in Non-Traded Market Risk. Prior to this he worked in various roles, including Head of Capital Markets Business Systems at Investec Bank and at KPMG in the Financial Risk Management practice. Piers started his career in London, working at Lloyds Bank, Credit Suisse First Boston and Rabobank. Piers holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Natal.
